At this event we will share learnings from the past year about the challenges and opportunities of bridging Art, Design and Business. Jennifer Millspaugh, founder of Austin Fashion Initiative (AFI) will moderate as co-founders Luanne Stovall and Jennifer Cotteleer share their experiences conquering product definition and brand development, as well as their vision for 2021.

This project is supported by the Cultural Arts Division of the Department of Economic Development of the City of Austin.

From Black Lives Matter to Pride Month, color is having a moment. Categorizing fellow humans by the color of our skin has caused massive personal, social, and economic injustice over the arc of human history. We can do much better. Exploring color in all its guises is the heart of my work as an artist, color theorist, and educator. I was recently quoted in “The Rainbow Connection,” by Jennifer King Lindley, the cover story for the June issue of Real Simple magazine discussing the psychology of color.

Contemporary artist Luanne Stovall celebrated the soft launch of LU+CO Design Studios at ACC Fashion Incubator’s Fashion Hour event earlier this season. LU+CO design studio creates Art for Daily Life by partnering with artists to curate limited edition goods celebrating the beauty and dignity of home. At the event, Stovall sat alongside Director Nina Means and Michelle French for a panel discussing the lifecycle of product development.
